All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur) is a centrally funded Institute of National Importance established on 17 September 2012 under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. Located at Basni Industrial Area, Phase 2, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, it operates under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and functions under the AIIMS Act 1956. Its 960-bed teaching hospital handles approximately 3,500 outpatient visits per day across 30 modular operation theatres and over 40 departments. Note: Full and current seat matrices are published at aiimsexams.ac.in before each INI-CET and INI-SS session. The 6-year integrated M.Ch and DM programmes are post-MBBS direct-entry routes that combine junior residency (3 years) with super-specialty training (3 years).
MBBS admissions are conducted through NEET UG followed by MCC centralised counselling. AIIMS Jodhpur MBBS seats (125 per year) fall under the All India Quota pool with no NRI, management, or state quota seats. Reservation follows central government norms: 27% OBC (non-creamy layer), 15% SC, 7.5% ST, and 10% EWS. Candidates register on the MCC portal (mcc.nic.in) after qualifying NEET UG.
MD and MS postgraduate admissions are through INI-CET conducted by AIIMS New Delhi twice a year (January and July sessions). Candidates must hold an MBBS degree with one completed year of compulsory rotatory internship. INI-CET covers all AIIMS and JIPMER campuses through centralised counselling at aiimsexams.ac.in.
DM and M.Ch super-specialty admissions (3-year post-MD route) are through INI-SS. The 6-year integrated M.Ch/DM route (post-MBBS) has separate counselling within the INI-CET framework. Full seat matrices are available at aiimsexams.ac.in.
B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing and M.Sc Nursing admissions are through the common AIIMS Nursing Entrance Test conducted by AIIMS New Delhi. The B.Sc Nursing programme is open to female candidates only. Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST). For M.Sc Nursing: B.Sc Nursing with minimum 55% and one year of clinical experience is required.
AIIMS Jodhpur follows the same subsidised fee structure as all new AIIMS under PMSSY. Total tuition for the entire 4.5-year MBBS programme is approximately Rs 24,100 (around Rs 4,400-6,000 per year). Additional annual institutional charges (registration, examination, gymkhana, security deposit) bring the annual outlay to approximately Rs 6,000 per year. Mess charges of approximately Rs 36,000-56,000 per year are billed separately; hostel rent itself is effectively included in the institutional fee.
MBBS interns receive a monthly stipend of Rs 30,070 (revised January 2022 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) during the 12-month compulsory rotating internship. This stipend covers living expenses throughout the internship year.
PG Junior Residents (MD/MS/DM/M.Ch trainees) receive Rs 64,000 per month during their 3-year (or 6-year) training tenure. Senior Residents (post-PG, 3-year SR tenure) receive Rs 74,000 per month. Both amounts are mandated centrally by MoHFW and apply uniformly across all new AIIMS.
B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing fee structures are equally subsidised. MPH programme fees are similarly low as a centrally funded programme. For all programmes, the majority of financial burden is removed through the subsidised fee structure, with additional scholarship support available through NSP and PMSS for eligible students.
AIIMS Jodhpur's heavily subsidised fee structure minimises financial burden for all admitted students. The following support mechanisms are available:
B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing students can access NSP post-matric scholarships. MPH students may access national fellowships in public health offered by ICMR and affiliated bodies. Applications for NSP schemes go through scholarships.gov.in.
