MBBS admission runs entirely through UP-NEET UG counselling conducted by DGME UP on upneet.gov.in, based on NEET UG merit; SRMS IMS does not run a separate management-quota admission track outside this centralised process. MD/MS and DM/MCh seats fill through NEET PG counselling on the same UP counselling board. Eligibility for MBBS requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and the NEET UG-qualifying minimum aggregate (50 per cent general category, 40 per cent for reserved categories per the institute's stated criteria).
SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences does not appear in the NIRF 2024 or 2025 Medical category rankings on nirfindia.org, and holds no NAAC grade since medical colleges are regulated by the NMC rather than NAAC. The institute is separately covered by India Today's annual private-media Medical college ranking (reported rank 37 in 2025, up from 38 in 2024), which is an editorial media ranking rather than a government accreditation and should not be read as equivalent to a NIRF rank.
The 30-acre campus on the Bareilly-Nainital Road houses the academic blocks, the 1,000-bed teaching hospital, the RR Cancer Institute, and separate hostels for boys and girls, along with residential quarters for faculty and staff. MBBS hostel fee for the 2025-26 session is published at approximately Rs 2.02 lakh per year as part of the total annual MBBS cost; PG hostel fee for clinical specialties runs to approximately Rs 3.47 lakh per year. The campus also runs an Eye Bank and critical care services established alongside the hospital in 2002, with MRI services and interventional cardiology added in 2003.
The attached hospital runs to 1,000 beds with roughly 900-950 designated teaching beds, giving MBBS and PG students clinical exposure across general medicine, surgery, and super-specialty departments without leaving campus.
23 MD/MS specialties (133 seats) plus a DM/MCh Neurosciences super-specialty track (6 seats/year) let students pursue UG through super-specialty training at a single institution.
Recognised by the National Medical Commission and currently affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow, the state's dedicated medical university for UP's private and government colleges.
The campus includes the RR Cancer Institute (inaugurated 2008, HDR brachytherapy added 2009) and interventional cardiology services introduced in 2003, giving MBBS students specialty-department exposure beyond a standard general hospital.
The full academic, hospital, and hostel footprint sits on one 30-acre campus on the Bareilly-Nainital Road, avoiding the split-campus commute some larger private medical colleges require.
Honest caveat: SRMS IMS has no NIRF Medical ranking. The institute's own 2025-26 MBBS-programme page states a 200-seat intake, while its NMC recognition record on file (verified for the 2024-25 academic year) lists a 150-seat sanctioned MBBS intake; this page states both figures rather than picking one, since the increase to 200 may reflect a session the NMC record has not yet caught up to, or may be a college-side overstatement. MBBS tuition and hostel fees here run well above government-college levels, typical for a private self-financing medical college in UP.
