S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) was established in 1981 under the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) trust in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is an autonomous institute -- delinked from Mumbai University since 1992 -- and awards PGDM diplomas approved by AICTE. In December 2024, SPJIMR became a Triple Crown institution, adding EQUIS to its existing AACSB (2018) and AMBA (2010) accreditations -- joining fewer than 120 B-schools globally with all three. In NIRF 2025, it ranked 20th in Management for the third consecutive year (score 62.06).

SPJIMR has maintained NIRF Management rank 20 for three consecutive years (2023-2025) and has improved its absolute score every year since 2022. The consistency of performance across Teaching-Learning Resources, Research and Professional Practice, and Outreach and Inclusivity sub-parameters is notable among private/autonomous institutions.

SPJIMR's 45-acre campus is located in Andheri West, Mumbai, within the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan campus. Andheri West is a central business district in Mumbai with easy access to the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), the western railway line, and the Western Express Highway. The campus is residential. Student clubs cover finance, consulting, marketing, sustainability, arts, and social impact. SPJIMR's Social Initiatives Programme (SIP) requires every PGDM student to spend approximately 6-8 weeks with an NGO or development organisation as a mandatory community project component.
SPJIMR operates from a 45-acre campus in Andheri West, Mumbai, under the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan heritage. It is consistently ranked in the NIRF Management top 20 and is among only about 10 Indian B-schools with AACSB accreditation. The flagship PGDM programme admits approximately 240 domestic students per batch (plus international); the Class of 2026 (2024-26 batch) had 356 students across PGDM and PGDM-BM combined. A distinctive feature is the Values and Ethics strand embedded across all three years of the one-year PGPM and two-year PGDM curriculum. The 46 per cent PPO rate in the Class of 2026 placement is among the highest at a non-IIM institution.
Only ~120 B-schools globally hold all three accreditations simultaneously; SPJIMR achieved Triple Crown with EQUIS in December 2024 -- among first ~10 Indian B-schools at this tier
Ranked 20th in 2023, 2024, and 2025; one of the most stable top-tier rankings in the NIRF Management category; score improved from 59.51 (2022) to 62.06 (2025)
Highest single-year placement average reported in SPJIMR history; median Rs 32.85 LPA; highest Rs 75 LPA; 46% PPOs; 80 companies; 356 students placed
BVB heritage; ethics and social responsibility embedded across all programmes, not elective; students complete community development projects as part of PGDM
Post-Graduate Programme in Management for experienced candidates (typically 5+ years); intensive 1-year format; alumni network shared with PGDM cohort
Honest caveat: SPJIMR awards PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) -- an AICTE-approved diploma -- NOT an MBA degree. While PGDM from AICTE-approved top institutes is equivalent to MBA in the labour market, it is not a statutory degree for purposes of public sector recruitment notifications that require "MBA degree." SPJIMR has no NAAC accreditation (not applicable as a non-university autonomous institute). The 45-acre campus area is from medium-confidence secondary sources; SPJIMR has not published an official campus area figure. CAT scores for PGDM admission are not disclosed by the institute; typical cut-offs from aggregators suggest 95th+ percentile.
