Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Basar campus, popularly known as IIIT Basar, is a Telangana state university created by an Act of the state legislature in March 2008. It is located in Basar, Nirmal district, Telangana, and holds UGC 2(f) and 12B recognition.
RGUKT Basar offers six-year integrated programmes in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
Entry runs through the RGUKT Common Entrance Test, a paper-based examination of 100 questions covering Mathematics, Physical Science, and Biological Science, open to students who have just completed Class 10. This is a state-run admission process, separate from JEE Main and the JoSAA counselling system used by national IIIT-PPP institutes.
RGUKT Basar's current NAAC grade is unresolved: the university's own official pages disagree, with one stating a C grade and another stating B+. This page does not repeat either figure as confirmed pending resolution of that discrepancy.
Programs at IIIT Srirangam (Hyderabad campus) are approved by AICTE, UGC — so your degree is recognised by employers, PSUs, and higher-education institutions across India and abroad.
With 3,000 students and 150 faculty members (~20:1 ratio), the campus offers close mentorship alongside broad peer-learning and student-activity opportunities.
Being located in Nirmal, Telangana gives students access to internships, industry guest lectures, and a well-connected transport network — an advantage for placements and exposure.
No officially documented notable-alumni list exists for RGUKT Basar.
