KMC has no girls hostel. Female outstation students must arrange PG accommodation in areas such as Kamla Nagar, Civil Lines, Hudson Lane, or GT Nagar, all within 1-3 km of the college. PG accommodation for women near North Campus ranges from Rs 8,000-20,000 per month depending on facilities and must be secured before the session begins. The boys hostel (~170 seats, ~89-90 rooms) is strictly for male students whose parents do not reside in Delhi, allocated on merit basis.
The NIRF 2025 figure of 374 UG students placed and a median of Rs 8.50 LPA represents all graduation outcomes reported to NIRF, which includes students who joined employment, postgraduate study, research, and government service. The campus placement cell's recruitment drive involving 155 companies placed 100+ students at a highest of Rs 24.8 LPA in 2025. BCom Hons and BA Economics students see the strongest corporate placement demand; students from Hindi, Sanskrit, and History should plan for PG entrance pathways (CUET PG, UPSC, state PSC) rather than expecting corporate campus recruitment.
CUET competition at KMC is very intense. BA Hons Political Science (909.69) and BCom Hons (897.17) in 2025 require scores well above the 90th percentile of all CUET-UG applicants. Students with CUET scores in the 650-750 range may find access through BSc Science programmes or BA Hons Hindi.

Kirori Mal College was founded in 1954 and named after the industrialist Kirori Mal, whose family made a significant endowment to the college. It is a government-aided constituent college of the University of Delhi under the University of Delhi Act, funded by the Government of NCT of Delhi and the UGC. KMC is co-educational, admitting both men and women across all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, which distinguishes it from several top-ranked DU constituent colleges that are women-only.
In NIRF 2025, KMC ranked 4th nationally in the College category with a score of 80.33, a jump from 9th in 2024. Sub-scores confirm strength across multiple dimensions: Teaching-Learning and Resources (86.67), Research and Professional Practice (79.65), Graduation Outcomes (83.61), and Outreach and Inclusivity (73.78). The Research sub-score of 79.65 is exceptionally high for a DU constituent undergraduate college, reflecting active faculty research output across humanities and sciences. NAAC accredited the college at A++ (CGPA 3.54) in its Cycle 2 assessment in 2023.
KMC offers 20 undergraduate programmes across three streams: Humanities (BA Hons in 8 subjects, BA Programme), Commerce (BCom Hons, BCom Programme), and Sciences (BSc Hons in 6 subjects, BSc Life Science, BSc Physical Science). Postgraduate programmes include MA in English, Hindi, History, Political Science, and Sanskrit, plus MSc in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Degrees are awarded by the University of Delhi.

KMC combines a NIRF Top-5 rank with co-educational admission and breadth across humanities, commerce, and science. For students who want the prestige of a top DU rank without restrictions on gender or stream, KMC is the only college in DU's top 5 that offers this combination.
A co-ed student choosing between science and humanities has 14 Honours-track options at KMC within one DU degree. No subject-change or college-transfer is needed if a student's interest shifts after admission.
Among DU constituent colleges, A++ grade is held by only a small number including Hindu College. KMC's A++ confirms quality in teaching-learning, research, and student support across independent NAAC assessment criteria.
All undergraduate programmes at KMC charge government-aided annual fees below Rs 27,000. The total four-year UG cost is under Rs 1.08 lakh across all streams, compared to Rs 10-20 lakh at comparable private colleges.
KMC is in the DU North Campus cluster (Kamla Nagar / Maurice Nagar), 900 m from Vishwavidyalaya metro. Students access DU's Central Library, University Science Instrumentation Centre, and the full North Campus social and academic ecosystem.
