Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad was established in 2017 by the Government of Maharashtra under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014, the 21st National Law University established in India and the third Maharashtra NLU after Mumbai and Nagpur.
The university offers a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) with 60 seats, and a one-year LL.M. in Constitutional and Corporate Law.
The Maharashtra government allotted 50 acres for the university's college and hostel campus, alongside a separate 55-acre site identified at Karodi on the city outskirts for a future permanent campus; in the meantime, teaching runs from the temporary setup at the Government College of Education. Facilities at the current campus include a moot court hall, classrooms, a sports ground, and a gymnasium, with students taking part in national and international moot court competitions as part of the university's practical legal-training curriculum.
Admission to all programmes is based entirely on performance in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
No NAAC grade or NIRF rank could be confirmed for MNLU Aurangabad.
Programs at Maharashtra National Law University Aurangabad are approved by UGC — so your degree is recognised by employers, PSUs, and higher-education institutions across India and abroad.
With 300 students and 25 faculty members (~12:1 ratio), the campus offers close mentorship alongside broad peer-learning and student-activity opportunities.
Being located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra gives students access to internships, industry guest lectures, and a well-connected transport network — an advantage for placements and exposure.
