REVA University was established in 2012 under a Karnataka state legislation act, built on the foundation of the REVA Group of Educational Institutions run by the Rukmini Educational Charitable Trust, founded by Dr. P. Shyama Raju, who serves as the university's Chancellor. The institution grew from an initial batch of about 150 students to more than 15,000 students enrolled today across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctoral programmes.
The university is organised into six faculties: Engineering and Technology, Architecture, Commerce and Management Studies, Liberal Studies, Science and Technology, and Law. These faculties house individual schools such as the School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Legal Studies, REVA Business School and School of Allied Health Sciences, together offering more than 40 undergraduate and 30 postgraduate programmes. REVA University holds an A+ grade from NAAC and is recognised by the UGC, AICTE and NBA, with its engineering programmes carrying KCET code E232 and COMEDK code E164.
In NIRF India Rankings 2025, REVA University placed in the 151 to 200 rank band under the University category and in the 201 to 300 rank band under the Engineering category, and the university has also received NIRF rank bands in Architecture, Law, Management, Innovation and SDG Institution categories in recent cycles. Admission to most programmes runs through REVA's own entrance tests, REVA CET for engineering, law and MBA candidates, alongside acceptance of national and state-level exams including JEE Main, KCET, COMEDK, CAT, MAT, CMAT, NATA and CLAT depending on the programme.
The Yelahanka campus sits close to Kempegowda International Airport and includes classrooms, laboratories, a central library, sports facilities, a health centre and residential hostel blocks for men and women. The university's placement cell reports over 450 recruiting partners and a highest recorded package of Rs 56 lakh per annum in its most recent placement cycle, with companies such as Amazon, Cisco, Cognizant and Dell among past recruiters.
REVA University holds an A+ grade from NAAC in its first accreditation cycle, alongside UGC, AICTE and NBA recognition.
Programmes admit students through REVA's own REVA CET, REVA MAT and REVA CLAT tests as well as JEE Main, KCET, COMEDK, CAT, MAT, CMAT, NATA and CLAT, giving applicants multiple entry routes.
The university's official placement page reports 450+ recruiting partners and a highest package of Rs 56 lakh per annum in its most recent recruitment cycle.
The REVA RISE scholarship aptitude test offers tuition fee waivers up to 100% for top scorers, with slabs starting at 10% for scores of 60 and above.
The 45-acre Yelahanka campus, close to Kempegowda International Airport, includes separate hostel blocks for men and women, a central library, laboratories and sports facilities.
Honest caveat: REVA University was established in 2012, making it a relatively young private university compared to century-old public universities in Karnataka, and its NIRF 2025 rank bands (151-200 for University, 201-300 for Engineering) reflect a mid-tier national standing rather than a top-tier one. The official website also does not publish a complete, itemised fee structure for most programmes online, so exact tuition costs for a given course and category require contacting the admissions office directly.
REVA University runs separate on-campus student housing blocks for men and women. Rooms are offered in AC and non-AC categories with single, triple and four-sharing options, and residences include attached bathrooms, RO drinking water, solar-heated hot water, 24-hour power and water backup, reading rooms, tutorial rooms and a dining mess with an online meal-booking system.
6 courses offered. Fees in INR lakhs.
