Overview
Mutual Fund Distributors (MFDs, also called IFAs — Independent Financial Advisors) advise clients on mutual fund investments and earn commissions from AMCs. India's mutual fund industry has grown sharply — AUM crossed ₹70 lakh crore in 2025, with SIP folios at 8+ crore. The Independent Financial Advisor model is one of the most accessible paths into financial services — anyone over 18 with a 10+2 certificate and AMFI ARN certification can start. Major distributors include Bajaj Capital, NJ IndiaInvest, Prudent Corporate Advisory, Anand Rathi Wealth, plus the growing fintech-distributor model (Zerodha Coin, Groww, ETMoney).
