Overview
Photojournalists cover news, conflict, sports, politics, and social issues through still photography for newspapers, magazines, wire services, and digital publications. Distinct from event/wedding photographers, photojournalists work to journalistic ethics — accuracy, context, no staged shots. India's photojournalism scene is anchored by national newspapers (Hindustan Times, Times of India, The Hindu, Indian Express), magazines (India Today, Outlook, Caravan), wire services (Press Trust of India, ANI), and international agencies' Indian bureaus (Reuters, AFP, Getty Images, Associated Press). Acclaimed Indian photojournalists like Raghu Rai, Pablo Bartholomew, Steve McCurry-influenced school. Tougher market post-print-decline but premium digital + freelance demand remains.
