Andhra University College of Engineering for Women (AUCEW) was established in 2010 under the self-finance category, exclusively for women. It is a constituent college of Andhra University, a century-old state university, and is approved by AICTE. The college offers B.Tech programmes in five branches: Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science and Systems Engineering. Admission is through AP EAPCET, the state's common engineering entrance exam.
As a constituent college of Andhra University, AUCEW shares in the parent university's institutional accreditation and reputation, while running its own campus, faculty, and administration at Sivajipalem, Visakhapatnam, distinct from the main AU College of Engineering campus at Waltair.

AUCEW does not appear as a separately ranked institute in NIRF's Engineering category. NIRF ranks the parent Andhra University at the university level (23rd nationally in 2025), and separately ranks AU College of Engineering, the main co-educational engineering college on the Waltair campus (88th in Engineering, 2025). AUCEW itself was not found listed as an independent participant in NIRF's Engineering rankings for 2023, 2024, or 2025.
AUCEW provides an on-campus hostel for women. The campus has four computer labs with a dedicated 300 Mbps internet line, a seminar hall seating 200, and outdoor facilities for tennis, shuttle badminton, throwball and tenni-coit.
One of a small number of dedicated women's-only public engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh, run directly by a state university rather than a private trust.
Andhra University holds NAAC A++ accreditation with a CGPA of 3.74, awarded in 2023 and valid through 2030. As a constituent college, AUCEW operates under this institutional accreditation.
A placement cell headed by a faculty in-charge runs recruitment drives; past recruiters named on the official site include IBM, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, ThoughtWorks and Analytical Quotient.
The campus has a dedicated girls' hostel described by the college as tailor-made for safety and security.
Students can access specialised skill-development labs, including Mechatronics, Robotics, CNC Machines, and Advanced Manufacturing, offered across the Andhra University College of Engineering campus.
