Overview
Career Counsellors guide students, professionals, and parents through career decisions using psychometric assessments, industry knowledge, and structured conversations. Distinct from career coaches (focused on working professionals), career counsellors typically work with school and college students. India's growing awareness of career planning, parental willingness to invest in counselling, and NEP 2020's mandate for career guidance at school level have driven demand. Major employers: school counselling departments, dedicated counselling firms (Mindler, iDreamCareer, Univariety), Edtech career-guidance platforms, plus growing private practice.
