Overview
Product Managers (PMs) own the why and what of a digital product — discovering user needs, prioritising features, working with engineering and design to ship outcomes. Indian unicorns (Razorpay, CRED, Zerodha, Swiggy) and global GCCs hire heavily; APM (Associate PM) rotational programmes at Microsoft, Google and Walmart Labs are highly competitive.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Talk to users (interviews, surveys, support tickets); analyse product data (Mixpanel/Amplitude/SQL); write PRDs and user stories; prioritise the roadmap; lead sprint planning with engineering; review designs with UX team; brief sales/marketing on launches; monitor metrics post-launch and iterate.
