Overview
Information Security Managers (also called Information Security Officers, security architects in senior roles, and ultimately CISOs — Chief Information Security Officers) own the overall security posture of an organisation. Distinct from technical roles (pentester, DevSecOps), the InfoSec Manager track is leadership-oriented — governance, risk, compliance, vendor management, board reporting, and team leadership. India's CISO market has matured sharply with the DPDP Act 2023, RBI cyber-security framework, and SEBI cyber-security circular all mandating clear accountability structures. Top CISO roles in India command ₹1-3 crore plus equity.
