Overview
Salesforce developers and administrators build and maintain CRM and platform solutions on the Salesforce ecosystem (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, Industries Cloud). Indian Salesforce talent is in very high demand globally: Salesforce India has expanded sharply in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and major consulting firms (Accenture, Deloitte, Salesforce-only specialists like Persistent Cloud, Coforge, Apexon) hire thousands annually. Trailhead-based learning makes self-taught entry achievable within 6-12 months.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Develop custom Apex classes, triggers, and Lightning Web Components (LWC); configure standard and custom objects, page layouts, validation rules; build flows and process automations; integrate Salesforce with external systems via REST APIs and middleware (MuleSoft); manage user access, profiles, and permission sets; conduct UAT and deployment via change sets or DevOps Center; troubleshoot production incidents; maintain data quality and migration scripts.

B.Tech CSE / IT, BCA, MCA. Self-taught entry via Salesforce Trailhead is the dominant path globally — Trailhead badges and Superbadges are heavily weighted at hiring. Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer 1 certifications are entry-level credentials. No traditional degree barrier, particularly for admin roles.
