NMIMS SBM holds NIRF Management rank 24 with sub-scores TLR 78.15, Graduate Outcomes 93.03, and OI 77.20. SBM also holds both AACSB and AMBA accreditations, which are the two most recognised global business school accreditations. For a student choosing a private business school in India, the combination of NIRF top 25 and dual global accreditation narrows the field to very few institutions.
The Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy holds a standalone NIRF Pharmacy rank of 11, separate from the management school's NIRF score. NMIMS offers the five-year integrated B.Pharm + MBA (Pharma Management) programme, which is one of the few undergraduate tracks in India combining core pharmaceutical science with business management in a single degree.
NMIMS Mumbai combines management, pharmacy, engineering, commerce, law, and design on the same 8-acre Vile Parle campus, allowing students from different schools to interact and access shared hostel, library, sports, and placement infrastructure. For students admitted to smaller schools (law, commerce, design), the management school's placement brand and alumni network provides a floor of employer visibility that standalone colleges cannot offer.
NMIMS uses proprietary tests for all programmes: NMAT by GMAC (MBA), NPAT (UG), NCET (engineering and pharmacy), and NLAT (law). These tests are less extreme in competition intensity than JEE or CAT for the same tier of outcome. NMAT allows three attempts per cycle, NPAT allows multiple registrations, and scoring cut points for admission to non-flagship schools (B.Com, BSc Econ) are achievable with focused preparation.
The 2023-24 batch SBM MBA Core placement report shows an average salary of Rs 25.13 LPA and highest of Rs 67.7 LPA, with 190+ companies including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, McKinsey, Aditya Birla Capital, Amazon, and D.E. Shaw. The Graduate Outcomes sub-score of 93.03 in NIRF Management confirms a high proportion of placed graduates relative to the batch.
Honest caveat: NMIMS is a federation of schools and quality, fees, and outcomes vary significantly by school. SBM (management) and SPPSPTM (pharmacy) are the benchmarks; the engineering school (MPSTME) and commerce school have lower NIRF standing. The MBA total fee of approximately Rs 25 lakh and the BBA total fee of approximately Rs 16 lakh are among the highest in India for private deemed institutions, and the Rs 25.13 LPA average salary is MBA-specific, not university-wide.
