Frontend Developer

Overview

Frontend developers build the user-facing interfaces of web and mobile applications. The role has grown in technical depth over the last decade with the rise of React, TypeScript, Next.js, and modern build tooling. Indian product companies (Razorpay, Swiggy, Flipkart, Zomato, CRED, PhonePe), design-driven startups, and GCCs all run large frontend teams. Strong frontend engineers with performance optimisation, accessibility, and design-system experience command premium pay.

Day-to-day responsibilities

Build UI components in React, Vue, or Svelte; implement design specs from Figma; write TypeScript with strict typing; manage application state (Redux, Zustand, React Query); optimise bundle size and runtime performance; ensure accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA); write component tests (Jest, Testing Library, Cypress); maintain design systems and component libraries; collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend teams.
