Overview
Veterinarians provide medical care to companion animals, livestock, and wildlife. India's pet care market has grown 14% annually since 2020, driven by urban pet ownership in metro cities. Government veterinary services (Animal Husbandry Departments, livestock-disease control) plus private pet hospitals (Crown Vet, Cessna Lifeline, DCC Animal Hospital) and the agribusiness sector (dairy, poultry, aquaculture) all have steady hiring. India has a structural shortage of qualified vets relative to its livestock population (the world's largest cattle herd).
